Chemical Management Database (CMD) is a software tool typically for toy brands and factories to manage and satisfy the documentation requirements of Europe Toy Safety Directive (TSD) 2009/48/EC and other standards such as RoHS, REACH, etc. Hong Kong Toys Council and DynaSys have conducted a joint project to promote this system to become "The Only One System Standardized for the Industry".

The contents of CMD include the following deliverables for each SKU:

• Bill of Material [BOM] (default to use the BTHA format) or you can also tailor make your own format
• Design Data, Test Plan, Conformity Assessment, Log of Information Change of each product
• Supplier information (including multiple suppliers) for each material and component in the BOM
• Bill of substance [BOS] of material and component
• Safety Data Sheet [SDS] of material and component
• Declaration of Conformance [DOC] of materials & component. DOC includes heavy elements, RoHS, phthalates, azo dyes, REACH, formaldehyde, etc.
• Chemical safety assessment [CSA] of material and component, of which BOS is not provided
• Documentation requirements of each material and component in the BOM
• Test reports (complete product testing, incoming testing, in-process testing and component testing. Test of heavy elements, RoHS, phthalates, azo dyes, formaldehyde, REACH, etc.)
• Audit reports and Complaints of final product

The goal of developing CMD is "One Industry, One System" - standardization, minimize error, minimize training needs, raise industry efficiency and effectiveness, and raise industry image.
